what happened to sunny hostin on the view?

Things got heated on Midweek's edition of The View as co-host Sunny Hostin blew up at invitee-host and Lincoln Project-conservative Tara Setmayer subsequently the quondam suggested that President Biden tin't govern via executive guild. Hostin was so unhinged that she started shouting about how "You can't build consensus with crazy people!"

The yelling came near after co-host Whoopi Goldberg brought upward contempo comments from Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) alert Democrats that they were looking rough in the midterms, and the only way to secure victory is to go harder to the left.

"No. This is the absolute incorrect lesson that Democrats take learned from what happened in the concluding year," decried Setmayer. "The country is not left-of-centre. We are a moderate country, independents dominate the electorate and its swing districts that make a deviation."

Adding: "It is a five-seat margin in the House of Representatives right at present, and historically information technology looks similar it's going to exist a blood bath for the Democrats if they don't turn things around."

Setmayer flashed her intentions when started strategizing for Democrats and against Republicans:

Now, the fashion to do that is non to go -- pull further to the left and get into these squabbles that give Republicans the ammunition they need for the culture wars. What they need to practise is they need to recognize some of the disingenuous arguments Republicans are using and Democrats need to start hitting back proverbially on holding Republicans accountable if these districts.

Hostin so chimed in to suggest AOC was just "worried about … the health of this country" and "the families of this country." She then went off on how supposedly popular progressive policies were:

And let me tell yous what I mean about these policies. They're 84 percent support for paid maternity leave. I'm surprised Republicans don't retrieve that'southward a expert thing. 75 percent back up government funding for child care. sixty percent support boosting the minimum wage. 57 back up tuition-free land public college. And 54 percent support Medicare for all, and that'south beyond the board.

"Until they find out who pays for it and then that changes," Setmayer sniped.

A short time later, Setmayer pointed out that AOC "wants President Biden to dominion by executive club which is not how our system works."

This triggered Hostin, who proceeded to yell:

HOSTIN: Only he has to.

SETMAYER: No, he does not.

HOSTIN: You can't build consensus with crazy people! You tin can't build consensus with insurrectionists! Yous can't do it.

For the next few seconds, information technology was a cacophony of shrieking as the cast was going at it and Goldberg had to get them dorsum on track.

This unhinged flare-up and hate for the right was fabricated possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Dawn and Ensure. Their contact data is linked.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Now, in a recent New York magazine interview, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez warned Democrats that they could be in trouble going into the midterms. She thinks they're still in the game, merely "the president and modern Democrats need to stop thinking they can return to an era where a backroom bargain with the GOP could be reached because that kind of thinking killed the Build Back Better beak." Practise yous agree?

TARA SETMAYER: No.

GOLDBERG: Okay.

SETMAYER: No. This is the absolute incorrect lesson that Democrats accept learned from what happened in the last twelvemonth. The country is not left-of-eye. We are a moderate state, independents dominate the electorate, and its swing districts that brand a difference. Information technology is a five-seat margin in the Business firm of Representatives right now, and historically it looks similar information technology's going to be a blood bath for the Democrats if they don't turn things around.

Now, the mode to practice that is non to get -- pull further to the left and get into these squabbles that give Republicans the ammunition they need for the culture wars. What they need to practise is they demand to recognize some of the disingenuous arguments Republicans are using and Democrats need to start hitting back proverbially on holding Republicans accountable if these districts.

There's only thirteen competitive swing districts out of 269 that are existence redistricted correct at present. That's not a lot. AOC is in safe district. She doesn't have to worry about this. The progressives are in condom districts they don't determine the House of Representatives' control.

SUNNY HOSTIN: What she is worried almost, though, is the health of this country. Right? And she's worried about the families of this country. And progressive policies are popular policies across the lath. They're really popular with independents and their pop with Republicans as well.

And let me tell you what I mean about these policies. They're 84 percent support for paid maternity leave. I'chiliad surprised Republicans don't recall that's a good thing. 75 percent support authorities funding for kid care. 60 percent support boosting the minimum wage. 57 back up tuition-gratuitous land public higher. And 54 percentage back up Medicare for all, and that'south across the board.

SETMAYER: Until they discover out who pays for it and and so that changes.

(…)

JOY BEHAR: So, what is the problem? It's the messaging.

SETMAYER: It is messaging.

BEHAR: And the Democrats -- I think AOC has a point when she talks about, this is not the erstwhile days when Tip O'Neil would negotiate with Strom Thurman. Those days are – whatever it was. I don't recall. Those days are gone.

SETMAYER: Only she besides wants President Biden to rule by executive society which is not how our arrangement works.

HOSTIN: Only he has to.

SETMAYER: No, he does not.

HOSTIN: You can't build consensus with crazy people! You can't build consensus with insurrectionists! You tin can't practice information technology.

[Crosstalk]

GOLDBERG (trying to get them to stop by talking over them): I asked you this question when we were talking about – we were talking about –

HOSTIN: Voters.

GOLDBERG: Election results and how to prepare the voting system.
